Providing Existing Diagnoses

You can use the Context APIs (POST and PATCH) to seed existing diagnoses for a session.

Accessing Generated Diagnoses

Generated diagnoses can be accessed through the Structured Data APIs, which provide structured data — currently only diagnoses. There are two such APIs: Session Level API
  • Returns the state of the diagnoses after the specified session ID.
Encounter Level API
  • Returns the latest state of diagnosis for an encounter. Since we don’t carry forward the diagnosis, it’s equivalent to asking for the diagnosis from the most recent session.

Reambient Scenarios

For reambient scenarios where multiple sessions occur within an encounter, it’s important to understand how diagnoses are handled:

Diagnosis Consideration

  • Only diagnoses passed via the Context APIs for a session are considered for that session.
  • Previous session diagnoses are not automatically carried forward.
  • Each session for an encounter starts with a clean slate, using only the diagnoses you explicitly provide.

Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide all relevant diagnoses for each session, including:
  • Diagnoses modified by the end user.
  • Newly added diagnoses.
  • Diagnoses from previous generations that should be retained.
